Dear Northampton,
It has been an honor to serve first as the Ward 4 City Councilor, and currently as one of your Councilors At-Large. Over the last four years, I have learned so much about how our amazing city works. I have collaborated and worked with city employees, constituents, department heads, fellow councilors, and the Mayor's office to solve issues and improve our city. I am running again to continue the work I have been doing for the last four years and help guide our city towards a bright future.
Here is a brief look at the work that I am proud of…
Worked to promote Social Justice and increase diversity in civic engagement:
Cosponsored w/ Councilor Elkins & Councilor Gore the “Resolution to Create the Joint Commission to Study Racialized Harms Perpetuated Against Black Residents & Workers in Northampton”
Served on the joint commission, renamed “The Northampton Reparations Study Commission”
Served on the Select Committee to Study Barriers to Service
Remained committed to reimagining policing:
Serving as Council liaison for police recruit interviews and promotions panels
Served on the Police Chief interview committee
Helped local Non-Profits serve our most vulnerable citizens:
Served multiple times on the Public Service Advisory Committee for the Community Development Block Grant funding cycle
Worked in leadership roles every term:
Served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Community Resources subcommittee
Served as Vice Chair of the Ordinance Review Committee
Served as Vice Chair of the Legislative Matters subcommittee
Please reach out to me throughout this process. I welcome your thoughts, ideas, and feedback, and I ask for your vote for the preliminary election on September 16th 2025, and full election on November 4th 2025, to continue representing our city as Councilor At-Large.
Thanks for your continued support and trust,
Garrick
